Been creating today =)

I have been so lazy with this pregnancy, and haven't made many bows lately. My bow group did a Valentine's Day launch, and I finally made some bows for it. I think they turned out really cute - be sure to check them out on ebay!

Twilight Turtle Giveaway =)

I've had my eye on these cute Twilight Turtles for a long time, and now that we have a new baby boy on the way I've decided that we really do "need" one! I showed these to my mom the other day in a little shop we were in, but passed it up because, well, we don't even have a crib, stroller, or other basics for this baby yet. However - today (thanks to my good friend Angie's blog ) I ran across this giveaway on Seven Dogs and a Baby - they are giving away a Twilight Sea Turtle to one of their lucky blog readers! It projects stars onto the walls/ceiling and is supposed to help baby sleep. Goodness knows I'm hoping for a good sleeper, but based on the other two beauties I brought into this world, we will be looking for some help in that department. I entered to win (pleasepleaseplease let me win!) - and if you have a child with sleep issues, you should enter too!!!

25.5 Week Appointment

I had my 25.5 week appointment today, and took the dreaded glucose test. Good news - I passed!!!! The only other news from today was that my iron is very low (I'm a vegetarian, so no big surprise there) and that my delivery date via c-section will be 7-10 days before my due date. This will put me around March 3rd for a delivery date. I can't wait to get it scheduled and start counting down!!! I'm getting so excited to meet my little man!

I go back every three weeks now, so my next appointment is the week of Christmas. My little guy is starting to kick and move all.the.time now - and I just love it! I'm so thankful for a healthy baby and a healthy pregnancy. I just feel very lucky today.

LAZY Sunday!

I am SO lazy today! I am still in my PJs and it's 2:45. In my defense, I am still recovering from a nasty upper respiratory infection, so it's a bit understandable. Even still, there are approximately 10,000,000 things I *should* be doing todayI refuse to feel guilty, though! I am holding my lazy head high! I think every mom deserves a lazy day every once in awhile =)

I do have to get myself motivated, though - we are attempting to take our Christmas card pictures today. Wish me luck! Photographing four unwilling kids isn't going to be easy! I'll post the results later.

On another note, I haven't had a chance to blog about our *horrible* week. Rodney was traveling for business (of course - the only times he travels bad things happen - last time he went I got a terrible stomach virus) and Emily and started getting a little sick. Well, a little sick turned into ALOT sick for poor Emily, and she ended up with a fever of 106.8!!! Needless to say, we spent some time in the ER, and I was scared out of my mind. She has slowly recovered but missed almost a week of school. Luckily, she made it to her Tuneful Turkey performance, which was just absolutely precious. As I mentioned earlier, I was pretty sick, too, and got about 2 hours' sleep the entire week. Thank goodness my hubby is now home, and we are all getting well again. I'm hoping for good health through the new year around here!!!

Halloween Fun!

We had a fun night last night trick-or-treating! The girls met up with some friends and went to what seemed like 100 houses. I was worn OUT! They got way too much candy - but luckily their school collects candy and gives it to cancer patients undergoing chemo. I love giving to a great cause, and getting rid of the candy at the same time. The girls get to keep 10 pieces each, and the rest gets donated. Lulu was a "gothic vampiress" and Junebug was a witch (well, she was a witch without a hat for most of the night, because her hat would not stay on!). I sure do miss the princess days, but they looked cute and had a blast. Here they are, along with my BFF's daughter who was dressed as Shawn Johnson =)

My Prize Winning Pumpkin!

At the girls' elementary school, there is a pumpkin contest at the fall festival every year. The room moms decorate a pumpkin for the class and there is a contest for the best pumpkin. Well, this year I made an elephant pumpkin - and let me tell you, it wasn't easy! But, it was worth my effort because it won first place! Here is a picture of the little guy - I have to say I feel a little bit proud of him LOL!

A Cup of Friendship

I was just given the "Cup of Friendship Award" by my friend Angie - I'm thinking she gave it to me to force me to blog LOL!!! I have been a slacking blogger - sorry 'bout that!

In order to claim my prize (which, in my mind, is hot chocolate - YUM!!!), I have to answer some questions:

1. Do you have the same friends since childhood? I have a few friends from childhood that I do keep in touch with, and several from high school that I am still very good friends with. Thanks to Facebook, I have gotten reconnected with some friends from elementary and middle school, and I am loving that!

2. What do you value most about your friends? I value knowing that my friends accept me for who I am, and will have my back when I need them to.

3. Are your friends your sounding boards? That would be a big YES!!! When I have something going on in my life, whether good or bad, I immediately have to tell my friends. I am lucky enough to have friends that will put up with all my whining =)

4. What is your favorite activity to share with your friends? I love going out to lunch and just chatting, or helping my friends plan parties. My best friend and I are huge party planners and we like nothing more than obsessing about every last detail.

Since there are 4 cups of liquid, I'm keeping one for myself (ok, I'm keeping two for myself because I don't have a third blogger friend to pass it to - how sad!) and passing the others along to....(and don't laugh because I don't know how to do the cute hyperlink thing - anyone care to fill me in?)....

Thanks for the award, Angie! I am so glad we are friends!

Sometimes, it pays to be pregnant...

I know some of you are not in the Atlanta area, but if you are then you know how crazy our gas situation is here right now. There are lines 50 cars deep at some gas stations, and those are the ones that actually HAVE gas, which aren't very many. Today I decided to head out and look for some gas, and wasn't having any luck until I looked down a side street and saw a line of cars. Line of cars = GAS! so I pulled into the line. It turns out that there was a $25 limit on the amount of gas you could purchase, and you had to pre-pay. Well, for my big gas-guzzling SUV (remember, I have four kids plus another on the way - gas guzzling SUV's are a necessary evil), $25 doesn't go very far. So, I got inside to pre-pay and jokingly asked the guy if they gave any special consideration to pregnant ladies. He said, "I'll take care of you - go fill your tank up!" I was SOOOO excited (it's the little things!). The guy behind me wasn't quite as excited (can't imagine why!). So, today was a good day to be pregnant. I hope I can use that excuse again next time I have to find gas =)

My new blog!

I have finally jumped on the "blog bandwagon" - I have been wanting to do a blog for awhile now, but never seem to have the time/energy to get started. My mom is always telling me (and I mean like, almost every.single.day) "You need to write stuff down! You'll forget all the cute things the girls do!" - and since I am more of a typer than a writer, I thought this would be the next best thing.

A little about me - my name is Heather, and I am a stay at home mom (was a CPA and a recruiter in a former life!) to two precious girls. Lulu (not her real name, but her nickname!) is 9 and Junebug (again, nickname) is 5. They are pretty funny little girls so I usually have some crazy story to share about them and the hilarious things they say (well, I think they're hilarious, and yes, I know I am their mom, but trust me on this - they're funny!). I also have two sweet stepsons, ages 17 and 13. They tend to stay out of the limelight (and out of the view of my camera lens) but I may be able to share some pics of them from time to time (when they least expect it). We are also expecting our surprise baby - a BOY! - on March 13th. I am married to the love of my life, my DH ("Dear Husband") who puts up with me (most of the time). I also own my own business, Lulu and Junebug (original, huh?). I make hair accessories and jewelry for little girls, and love every minute of it. My website is www.luluandjunebug.com.

Hopefully, my blog will be a place to share about our day to day lives, as well as share some of my latest creations. Thanks for reading!
